About Me

Hi, I'm Jen Ottepka! From a young age I've always been fascinated by the astonishing beauty of nature, and the animals around us every day. Fortunately, photography is the perfect medium for me to not only share this passion with the world, but give you a glimpse of an otherwise invisible reality. Through my pictures I hope to promote the same profound appreciation for nature and animals that I've had since I was a child. Through my lens, from surreal to sublime I strive to tell stories that connect us to nature and animals, and remind us that they're not all too different from ourselves. 

Real Photos of Real Animals in Real Situations. All of my images are 100% legitimate, and even despite our ever changing world I pride myself on a lack of AI shortcuts and an abundance of hard work and patience. None of my work is supplemented, enhanced, or generated by AI or computer aided programming. 

I believe that the most beautiful things are oftentimes those most overlooked, and sometimes, all you need to do is look out your back window. When I'm not patiently waiting for the perfect shot from Annie, Squeaky, Rex, or any of my other star subjects, I enjoy setting up photo backdrops by my bird feeder and visiting local wildlife refuges and parks. Whether it's the delicate details of a blooming flower or the cheerful presence of local backyard wildlife, my goal is to freeze moments in time that inspire awe and wonder, and share them with the world.
